A pair of polychrome porcelain incense burners from the Meissen manufactory. They are topped with removable, openwork lids adorned with bouquets of flowers. Their bodies are decorated with raised flowers forming cartouches containing scenes of ships on one side and birds in branches on the other. Each vase has two leafy handles. Around the base are two winged cherubs playing. The whole rests on four small feet shaped like acanthus leaves. The set displays beautiful turquoise, yellow, and pink colors highlighted by gold-painted details. Both bear the Meissen manufactory mark in blue beneath the foot.
