A pair of Jacob Petit porcelain candlesticks, decorated across their entire surface with polychrome enameled floral bouquets on a white ground, enhanced with foliate scrolls, acanthus leaves, and small gold-painted pearls. They rest on three small foliate feet. The scalloped shapes inspired by the Rococo style, the abundant use of gilding, and the shimmering polychromy of the decoration are characteristic of the original and whimsical style of Jacob Petit, one of the most renowned porcelain manufacturers in 19th-century Paris. Marked "JP" in underglaze blue. 19th century, circa 1840. Dimensions: W: 13cm, D: 13cm, H: 25cm.
