A bronze group with a brown patina, surmounting a clock . The bronze depicts a shepherd and his companion near a tomb. The shepherd rests his curved staff on an epitaph bearing an inscription in Ancient Greek. The bronze is signed and dated "Ene AIZELIN 1867".
Barbedienne foundry A. Collas mechanical reduction stamp . The fluted marble front is flanked by consoles and adorned on the sides with gilt bronze female masks. The Roman numeral dial is marked on the back: "Japy Frères & Cie / Exposition 1855 / Grande Méd. d'Honneur". Numbered 2270.
