A Restoration period collector's cabinet veneered in maple burl and gilt bronze. It opens with four doors on the front, revealing a shelf in the upper section and 42 compartments. The cabinet features a delicate decoration of olive branches with rosettes at the corners in marquetry of wood and mother-of-pearl. The central rail conceals a secret drawer and is decorated with a vase overflowing with flowers surrounded by swans. The rounded uprights are adorned with gilt bronze mounts in the form of lion heads, acanthus leaves, and papyrus flowers, framed by ascending friezes of tulips terminating in scrolls. The lower rail is decorated with a frieze of bronze posts. The whole rests on four ovoid feet shaped like acorns. It is surmounted by a breccia marble top surrounded by a bronze gallery decorated with openwork palmettes.
