The Rococo or Louis XV Salon
Immerse yourself in the world of Château de Peyraud and travel through time via the various rooms of the Château, decorated in 18th and 19th century styles: Louis XV, Louis XVI, Restoration, Directoire, Empire, etc. Here we invite you to discover a magnificent salon decorated in the Louis XV style , with its brightly colored walls that blend perfectly with the Rococo style of the period!
At the center of this room, with its distinctly Rococo style, stands a magnificent freestanding cabinet in the Flemish style. Its dark colors contrast perfectly with the flamboyant decor and blend beautifully with the two gilded wooden columns, one in the Louis XIV and the other in the Regency style . The room is further decorated with imposing baluster candelabra and a pair of gilded bronze andirons placed atop the cabinet.
On a very imposing giltwood console table in the typical Italian Baroque style of the 18th century, rest a very large ovoid vase in gilt bronze and a Louis XVI style candelabra
In this eclectic setting, a magnificent Louis XV period mirror in gilded and carved wood stands in the center of the room like a messenger from the past. Placed above a fireplace adorned with a pair of andirons , it is flanked on its left by a Louis XV cartel clock in Boulle marquetry, which overlooks a superb, typically Louis XV display cabinet with marquetry decoration.
