Italian alabaster sculpture of a nude young woman in the antique style. The female figure stands on a sculpted rock. A flowing drapery, resting on her shoulder and ending at her feet, delicately covers part of her body. In a contraposto position, her two hands hold her hair in a delicate movement, suggesting that she is bathing. The young woman's face reveals a jovial smile and finely hollowed almond-shaped eyes. The final execution gives this body great plasticity, and the drapery plays a significant role in illustrating the figure's sensuality. Alabaster enhances the fleshiness of this statuette with its naturally warmer color. The whole piece rests on a stepped circular base. This statue of a woman perfectly illustrates the taste for Antiquity and Greco-Roman canons in the 19th century. Signed on the back of the base "A. Del Perugia" (19th-20th).
