"Smoke" - Ron Arad's "Little Albert" armchair in polyethylene, hand-decorated with black lines and lacquered, signed Amane. The seat and backrest are a single piece forming a flat base. With its dynamic, contemporary lines and the geometric purity of its structure, the "Little Albert" armchair—one of the designer's major and iconic pieces—possesses a highly original graphic presence. This unique design piece features a modern black and white painted and lacquered finish. This one-of-a-kind piece, with its contemporary design and clean lines, is entirely hand-decorated. Very lightweight and durable, it can be moved from the living room to the terrace, indoors or outdoors. The oval opening in the backrest allows for easy handling. The structure is made of reinforced polyester resin with a steel support. This unique piece is the result of a collaboration between Galerie Atena and the artist Amane.
Designed by Ron Arad (Tel Aviv, 1951). Produced by MOROSO, 2000. Signed by Amane Babikian, a talented young artist with many passions. She brilliantly combines a career as a national Ultimate Frisbee champion with training as a gilder and ornamentalist. She successfully met the challenge presented by the Atena Gallery and adorned this armchair with a monochrome design inspired by soothing smoke, creating a suspended moment. She also created another polychrome armchair inspired by the work of Verner Panton, and in particular his psychedelic VISIONA 2 series, created in 1970 for Bayer.
