Important mirror in micromosaic and polychrome glass twists. With its dynamic shape, this Venetian mirror is entirely decorated with bouquets of flowers, stray roses, and foliage in a naturalistic style, in low relief against a gold background. The motifs are delicately crafted, and the technique employed demonstrates extraordinary virtuosity. This mirror was made in Venice, Italy, towards the end of the 19th century, when Italian micromosaic was renowned throughout Europe.
Condition report : in very good condition with minor restoration to the wood and restoration of some tesserae.
