A pair of white opaline soap bottles with their ball stoppers, from the Restoration period. Each opaline glass bottle is decorated on the body with gothic arcatures painted in gold and punctuated by blue forget-me-nots. Gold stripes underline the neck while the stopper is topped by a petal rosette. This decoration was made by the workshop of Jean-Baptiste Desvignes, a painter and gilder on crystals active in Paris from 1817 to 1826.
