Large shelving bookcase composed of twelve superimposed glass panels resting on a brass structure. Created by Dutch designer Kim MOLTZER (1938-2015). This typical 70's bookcase can also be used as a room divider. Good condition. From birth, Kim Moltzer was immersed in an unprecedented cultural milieu. Born in Berlin in 1938, he had Dutch nationality but grew up in South America, where his parents moved when he was two. His childhood was marked by the lush vegetation of Brazil and the landscapes of the Andes. As a young adult, he returned to Europe and began his higher education in Switzerland, before continuing in Paris at the Institut d'Études Politiques. His relationship with architect Jean-Paul Barray gave him access to his true passion: the design and creation of furniture. Together, they founded ECFI (Études Construction Formes Industrielles), a company specializing in fitting out professional spaces and apartments. Over the course of her career, Kim Moltzer has worked with a wide range of materials, from cardboard and bronze to wood and glass. Her world is totally original, and her furniture production is, as a result, utterly unclassifiable. Design period, Circa: 1970 Dim: W:152cm, D:48cm, H:202cm.
