Sumptuous Vert de Mer marble column sheath with square cross-section. The front is adorned with a flaming torch, entwined with ribbons and a crown of thorn branches in chased ormolu. Gilded bronze mounts decorated with palmettes run from top to bottom. Napoleon's emblems, such as the torch, crown and palm, are featured. This column in the Empire style stands on a square base.
