FUN 7 DM Verner Panton chandelier mounted on a round white wooden ceiling light. The mother-of-pearl lozenges are suspended by metal chains and linked by rings. Lighting is provided by two bulbs hidden by curtains of mother-of-pearl pastilles. The chandelier reflects the light and produces a crystalline sound as it sways lightly. Verner Panton (1926-1998) was a Danish designer who gave his creations a futuristic edge in the 1950s. He became the benchmark of Scandinavian and international design with his use of new light-reflecting materials such as metal and mother-of-pearl here. The FUN collection was created in the 1960s and represents a new, vital design. Design period, Circa: 1960 Dim: W:96cm, D:96cm, H:85cm.
