PAIR OF MAHOGANY TRIPOD COLUMNS AND CANDELABRA, EMPIRE PERIOD

Important pair of Empire period tripod sheaths in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer. The shafts are trimmed with bronze torches and ribbon bows, caduceus decorated with wheat ears and floral motifs. Each column is topped by a seven-branched Louis-Philippe period candelabra in gilded and patinated bronze. The candelabra shafts, in gilded columns enhanced with ove leaf and acanthus motifs at the ends, are encircled by three branches of foliage supported by a tripod base decorated with chased bronze palmettes. The two sheaths terminate on three lion's paw feet in true Empire style. This set of period pieces will add real rhythm to an Empire or Restoration-style hallway or study.
