An important bronze sculpture with a nuanced green patina depicting Cupid, the Greco-Roman god of love, preparing to launch an arrow. He is represented as a winged youth, equipped with a bow and a quiver full of arrows, his attributes. His finely sculpted face is framed by the soft curls of his hair, which is encircled by a narrow band. He is walking, his face turned to his right, probably towards his target. Although a minor deity, Cupid has nonetheless greatly inspired artists throughout the ages. Napoleon III period, circa 1870. Dimensions: W: 40cm, D: 31cm, H: 54cm. In very good condition, with minor signs of wear.
