Bronze statuette with shaded brown patina featuring a bather leaning on a vase, holding back her hair. The figure takes up the classic iconography of the theme: the nude body encircled by a drapery, the sinuous line and the position of the head. However, the artist is not sculpting the idealized body of an odalisque or nymph, but the carnal naturalism of a woman. Her gestures, voluptuous forms and loose hair exude a sensual charm. The vase on which the bather rests her arm is decorated with satyrs and nymphs in bas-relief. The bronze is presented on a grey-black marble base. XX° period, Circa: 1900 Dim: W:22cm, D:22cm, H:51cm. In very good condition.
