Large designer bookcase by Kim Moltzer, created in the 1970s. The rectangular bookcase features the geometric shapes favored by the designer. It features eight smoked glass shelves in a large silver-plated brass structure. The black-lacquered wood base opens three doors to reveal storage space. This large, high-quality piece of furniture can be used as a room divider.
Born in Berlin, Kim Moltzer (1938-2015) was raised in Argentina before studying in Europe. In 1966, he founded ECFI, a design office for professional spaces and apartments, with architect Jean-Paul Barray. A versatile artist, he created furniture for a number of French personalities, including the Rothchilds and the Pompidou couple.
