Carved wood "Forêt Noire" liquor cabinet. This charming late 19th-century liquor cabinet is decorated with vegetal motifs, pine cones, saddlebags, hats, rifles and powder cases, and openworked with four beveled glass cartouches on the top, back and sides. The set is composed of four crystal decanters and gold nets with their stoppers, as well as sixteen small stemmed glasses embellished with stylized gold-painted pampers and nets. A gilt-bronze handle removes the display stand housing the crystalware, carved with floral and plant motifs. The lid is decorated with stylized ivy branches framing a glass pane. This liqueur service opens with a small key and is revealed from the top. The set rests on four toupie feet. The crystal liquor cellar was an essential piece of dining room furniture between the mid-18th and mid-19th centuries.
