Galerie Atena's workshop is committed to offering a customized packing service for objects and furniture. Packing requires great care to ensure the proper conservation of works of art.
Packaging a sculpture:
Packaging varies according to the size, weight and material of the sculpture. For heavy sculptures, we recommend wooden crates. For sculptures in biscuit, which require great care, especially on fragile parts (fingers or decorations), the base is held in place to minimize shock and friction. We cut foam sheets to the shape of the sculpture to prevent it from moving around in the crate. Marble and bronze sculptures are carefully wrapped in tissue paper and several layers of bubble wrap. A kraft ball wrapping surrounds the package, preventing it from touching the walls of the box.
Painting packaging :
It is essential to secure the corners of the boards with foam wedges. The painting is covered with a sheet of silk and, if necessary, foam pads. The painting is then covered with several layers of bubble wrap to prevent any shocks during transport. Cardboard or wooden crates are cut to the size of the painting. Triple-flute cardboard provides better protection against impact. Ball-shaped craft paper is added to the sides to stabilize the painting in the crate.
Chandelier packaging :
The chandeliers are suspended in the custom-made box.
Furniture packing :
The furniture is securely packed in wooden crates. The sides of the furniture are covered with foam sleeves to prevent rubbing.
