A Louis XV period wall-mounted console in richly carved, stuccoed and gilded wood, resting on two curved legs joined by a rocaille shell brace. The legs are adorned with jagged acanthus leaves and flower falls. The highly ornamented belt features an openwork décor of foliage, scrolls and curves. It supports a Rance marble top. This carved decoration of plant and floral elements is a magnificent testimony to the talent of master sculptors under Louis XV. Louis XV period, Circa: 1740 Dim: W:113cm, D:57cm, H:87cm. In very good condition, with a few cracks in the wood. The original marble is in very good condition.
