A Boulle marquetry console with a brass background and red tortoiseshell inlay with foliage, arabesque and fleuron motifs, convertible into a game table. The console is richly decorated with gilded bronzes. The top is surrounded by a finely chiselled baguette and rests on four cambered legs decorated with espagnolette heads (a decorative motif typical of the Regency and Louis XV periods) and ending in hooves. A drawer opens on the main side. The top is hinged and opens sideways, pivoting to reveal a flat square surface with poly-lobed contours. A green play mat is attached to facilitate play.
