INKWELL MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND GILT BRONZE "L'AMOUR MESSAGER", CHARLES X PERIOD

Interesting ormolu inkwell featuring a winged love figure holding an ink cup with glass, and carrying a quiver with hourglass on its back. He is seated on an oval mother-of-pearl base, engraved with flowers and foliage, with four penholders. The ormolu base is finely chased with twisted flutes and floral motifs. The inkwell rests on four ball feet. The hourglass is removable. A crack on the mother-of-pearl base and a chip on the glass. Charles X period, Circa: 1820 Dim: W:15cm, D:10cm, H:11cm.
