Brown patina bronze statue of a crouching nude woman. Signed "J. Ortis", with the founder's stamp, "Susse Fres Edts Paris, cire perdue" on the terrace. Bronze cast before 1939. Art Deco period. Jean Ortis, a sculptor active in the early 20th century, executed a number of female nudes, all influenced by the Art Deco style. He collaborated with the Susse Frères foundry on two of his bronzes.
