Louis XV-style allegorical clock in red tortoiseshell veneer with gilded bronze trim, richly decorated with rocaille and jagged acanthus leaves. The 13-part enameled dial is signed "Gilles Laine, Paris". It is surmounted by an allegory of Time, represented by a winged old man holding a scythe. The clock rests on four bronze cambered feet, deeply carved with scrolls and foliage. Nineteenth-century movement. With its original key marked "A.M.". Tortoiseshell specimen conforming to Article 2 of Regulation (EC) no. 338/97 of December 9, 1996. Acquired prior to June 1, 1947. Napoleon III period, Circa: 1860 Dim: W:17cm, D:15cm, H:55cm. In very good condition. The movement has been cleaned, serviced and is in working order.
