A lamp stand in bronze with a patina and gilding, composed of a circular base with flutes and a doucine with floral motifs, topped by a fluted shaft resting on a square base and decorated with rosettes. Carcel lamps, which were developed by Guillaume Carcel in 1800, were equipped with a pump that regulated the flow of oil to the wick. The Carcel lamp was reputed to be expensive and fragile, reserved for a wealthy clientele. Louis-Philippe period, Circa: 1840 Dim: W:13cm, D:13cm, H:51cm.
