Four oils on copper representing "The Four Seasons". The allegorical figures are inspired by famous paintings from the history of art, and reflect Renaissance iconography, with female figures depicted against a landscape background. The Autumn allegory is based on the "Pomona" (1700) by Nicolas Fouché (1653-1733), a French painter admitted to the Académie de Saint-Luc on March 15, 1679, now in the Fine Arts Museum in Budapest. Late 18th-early 19th century. Dim. without frame: H:34 cm L:25,5 cm. 18th century, Circa: 1800 Dim: W:35cm, D:2cm, H:43cm. In good condition. Frames with slight wear to the wood.
