Pair of asymmetrical modernist furniture in rosewood veneer in the taste of André Sornay. One is a bar, the other a secretary. Both have quadrangular pedestals and display geometrical lines in the purest Art Deco style. The bar cabinet opens on the front with two swing doors in the lower part, a door with a bar shelf in the centre, and a curtained niche in the upper part. The desk has numerous storage compartments, with shelves and drawers, and a sliding shelf for writing. A removable mirror-covered tray can connect the two pieces of furniture. Keys and keyways in silver plated metal of modernist shape. Dim. bar: W:93cm (closed bar) / 152cm (open bar), D:45cm, H:150cm. Size of secretary: W:89cm, D:46cm, H:150cm. The set is completed by two high stools. Size of stools: W:26cm, D:26cm, H:80cm. Provenance: Makassar Gallery. Art Deco period, Circa: 1930 Size: W:93cm, D:45cm, H:150cm. In good condition, with restorations of marquetry chips mainly on the base of the bar.
