MIRRORMICRO-MOSAIC, VENICE, LATE 19TH CENTURY

Important Mirror in micro-mosaic and polychrome glass twists. This VenetianMirror is entirely decorated with bouquets of flowers, roses and foliage in the naturalist style, in light relief on a gold background. The motifs are delicately worked, and the technique employed is of extraordinary virtuosity. This Mirrorwas made in Italy, in Venice, towards the end of the 19th century, when Italian micro-mosaics were renowned throughout Europe.
