An exceptional pair of Louis XVI style sconces in gilt and blue patina bronze. In the shape of an antique tapered amphora, they are adorned with five arms of light in bronze underlined by twisted flutes, with acanthus leaves and bunches of fruit. The shaft is adorned with three mascarons of women with aigrettes and garlands of fruit and ends with a fall of foliage, trimmings and oak leaves with acorns. The sconces are held in place by gilded ribbon bows in bronze . They are mounted on moulded wooden plates.
These light arms are attributed to Henry Dasson or Alfred Beurdeley, after a model by Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843).
