Rare desk inkwell in chased and gilded bronze in the imitation of an armillary sphere, opening in two parts to reveal an interior with compartments. Circular base with pedestal. A beautifully crafted neoclassical object that has retained its original gilding, probably from the Russian Tula factory. A similar polished steel inkwell is in the Hermitage Museum.
