A pair of table candlesticks in porcelain bisque with two lights in the Sèvres style. Each candlestick is decorated with a young Love on clouds, holding a garland of flowers. These children's figures are reminiscent of the famous"Enfants Falconet", made in Sèvres in the second half of the 18th century after François Boucher. These figures were very successful during the 18th century and well beyond their creation date, and Sèvres marketed a large number of them. The "children" genre thus symbolised a large part of the Manufacture's sculptural production, and remained in great demand by a clientele fond of the models inspired by the famous painter. Our Loves rest on a circular base dotted with petals and hemmed with interlacing. The arms of light are delicately carved with foliage and twisted motifs. Apocryphal mark of Sèvres in hollow, under the base.
