Pair of bedside tables Art Deco in veneer ofMacassar ebonyby the decorator Claude de Plasse. Each bedside features a drawer that opens with a chrome-plated metal handle, and a small square storage compartment. Macassar ebony is a wood with alternating black and cream colours. It was used extensively in the Art Deco period for decoration and the manufacture of high-end furniture. This type of wood is mainly produced in Indonesia and takes its name from the city of Makassar. They can also come with a frame of Art Deco bed and a dressing table made of Macassar ebony veneer which we sell separately.
