Two Napoleon III period columns composed of a great variety of marbles in rare colors of blue and violet. The shaft in "bleu Turquin" marble is surmounted by a doric capital in "vielle brun" marble. It rests on a circular base underlined by a molded doucine of Byzantine marble and "Arlequino breccia", the whole on a square base in white Carrara marble. Each sellette is enhanced by a Paloma marble top (23.5 x 23 cm). This pair of 19th century sellettes will perfectly underline your sculptures and vases of Neoclassic style. The different marbles in our columns :
- Turquin blue/ Bardiglio Forito: used in Italy for fireplaces and fine Empire furniture, notably in the Emperor's bedroom at the Château de Compiègne.
- Le viellle brun: Hautes-Pyrénées, France, quarried from ancient times to the early 20th century, the quarry is now closed, making it all the more rare. - Brèche Arlequino: Italy, used in the manufacture of furniture, decoration and objets d'art, including the Cabinet de la Pendule at Versailles and the Opéra Garnier.
- Paloma: Spain, its light grey color is long-lasting and is used for decoration and marble floors.
- Carrara: Tuscany, Italy, a veined white marble known for being the most resistant. It has been used in statues since Antiquity.
