A beautiful Louis XVI style marble clock with rich ormolu decoration, surmounted by a vase from which fruit and foliage spring, with leafy handles supporting garlands. The dial is set in a bollard flanked by two patinated bronze putti ending in foliage, their faces turned slightly to the side, one holding a flute, resting on a stepped base with a central projection decorated with twigs, foliage and drapery. The bollard is richly adorned with pine cones, foliage scrolls and a ram's head. On the main face, two winged loves embracing on a background of gilded bronze foliage and flowers, and on the sides, two vases in niches from which foliage and branches spring. The white enamel dial, with hours in Arabic numerals, is enlivened by festoons framing a central star-shaped openwork motif and spear-shaped hands. The whole is raised by four spinning top feet with foliage and two double clog feet. Original movement in working order. Circa: 1860 Dim: W:31cm, D:10,5cm, H:46cm.
