FOUNTAIN CLOCK IN GILDED AND PATINATED BRONZE FROM THE EMPIRE PERIOD

Gilded and patinated bronze fountain clock, featuring a niche housing a mascaron (probably a river god) and a shell. It features a mechanism simulating a jet of water coming out of the mascaron's mouth, represented by a twisted crystal stem. The fountain is flanked by two columns with Corinthian capitals supporting an entablature with florets. On top, the dial with Roman numerals for the hours, finely chased with flowers and fluting, is framed by reeds and various foliage. It is supported by two swans, a decorative motif emblematic of the Empire style. The whole rests on a base decorated with palmettes and four feet, of which the front ones are adorned with scrolls and florets. Wire movement cleaned, serviced and in working order.
