Bronze with brown patina, l'Allégorie de la Vigne after Hippolyte Moreau (1832-1927), depicting a draped woman with braided hair held back, holding a bunch of grapes in her raised hand and a thyrse on her shoulder in the other. The young woman is leaning against a pilaster decorated with garlands and a cup. The bronze is signed on the base "H.MOREAU" and stands on a cherry-red molded marble base. Bronze numbered: 5325. The thyrse, a major attribute of Dionysus, God of Wine, is a large staff evoking a scepter, decorated with vine leaves, bunches of grapes and ending in a pine cone. Late 19th century, Circa: 1880 Dim: W:23cm, D:23cm, H:62cm. In good condition.
