Edme Antony Paul Noël, known as Tony Noël: large bronze statue with brown patina depicting Orpheus, mythical poet from Thrace, putting Cerberus to sleep. In Greek mythology, Cerberus is the three-headed dog that guards the entrance to the Underworld. Orpheus succeeded in bewitching him by playing the lyre to bring his wife Eurydice back to the world of the living. The mythological figure is signed on the base: "Tony Noel". Foundry stamp "THIEBAUT Frères Paris, successeurs de Fumière et Cie".
