Brown patina bronze sculpture, "The Harvest", signed Léon Pilet (1840-1916). An allegorical subject depicting a woman draped in antique style, wearing a crown of wheat ears and pearls. She holds a scythe in her right hand and a bundle of wheat in her left. On the base is engraved "Concours de la race ovine Berrichonne du cher - 2 Mai 1905 - Prix d'honneur - Mr. Edme Jules". The bronze rests on a wooden base covered in red velvet, enhancing the sculpture's elegant appearance. Léon Pilet was a 19th-century French artist who exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1861 to 1914, and was honored at the Exposition Universelle in 1889. Several French museums now preserve his works.
