A cylindrical ceramic vase or lamp base, glazed in green with brushed black, with incised decoration of mermaids in waves. Ring-shaped grip on the shoulder. Signed under the base: "J. Blin".

Jacques Blin (1920-1995) was a French ceramist active in the second half of the 20th century. His style is characterised by the presence of illustrations of birds, animals and scenes of daily life. A very committed artist in the defence of his art, he became vice-president of the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva. He was also president of the Chambre syndicale des céramistes et ateliers d'art de France for twenty years.
