
TABLE CENTERPIECE IN BISCUIT, VOLKSTEDT-RUDOLSTADT FACTORY, GERMANY
Large centerpiece in biscuit of porcelain composed of a fruit bowl and four planters. Its decoration is inspired by the iconography of Bach. The central bowl is decorated with two women draped in antique style, turning around the foot. The openwork basin is decorated with musical instruments, garlands of roses and goat heads. The base is decorated with vine branches, garlands and goat heads in relief. The jardinières - two rectangular and two curved - are topped with allegorical figures representing the four seasons. They are decorated with niches and goat's heads around the edges. All the pieces of this tableware are numbered and bear the blue fork mark of the Volkstedt-Rudolstadt factory (Germany, Thuringia).
