"Falcon" armchair in brown leather and beech wood, designed by Sigurd Ressell in the 1970s and produced by Vatne Möbler in the 1980s. In good condition, with slight signs of wear. Sigurd Ressell (1920-2010) is a Norwegian designer who strongly influenced Scandinavian design. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Crafts, Art and Industry and graduated in 1947. As part of a competition, Sigurd Ressell presented one of his designs. It was noticed by Niels Vodder, a designer who regularly collaborated with Finn Juhl, a key figure in design. In 1958, Ressell received an award for his SR 600 chair at the “Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibitions” event. Ressell designed numerous steel and leather armchairs, sofas and chairs. In 1971, he designed the legendary Falcon chair. Produced for thirty years by the company Vatne Möbler, it enjoyed enormous success. Design Period, Circa: 1980 Dim: L:79cm, P:79cm, H:81cm.
