Important column tripod in carved and richly decorated gilded wood, forming a torch holder, in the Louis XIV style. The triangular shaft is flanked by a decoration of candelabras, fleurons, lambrequins and shells, and supports a circular wooden tray with gadroons. The whole rests on a tripod base with acanthus leaf scrolls. Its tripartite design gives our column a light and slender look. This model of torch holder initially conceived to receive a candelabra will emphasize a sculpture or a decorative vase.
