Fine polychrome porcelain clock surmounted by a bacchante and a faun seated under a cup and holding a garland of flowers. Shimmering decoration of bouquets of flowers, scrolls and foliage on a blue and white background with gold highlights. Two small tritons are seated at the corners, each holding a basket of flowers. The clock rests on a counter-socle richly decorated with foliage and crosses. This piece is reminiscent of Jacob Petit's whimsical style, with its abundance of rocaille flowers and foliage, contrasting bright colors and delicate, meticulous detail. The movement of this period clock has been completely overhauled and is in working order.
