A complete set of the Universal History from the beginning of the world to the present day, composed in English by a society of Gens de Lettres and enriched with figures and maps. This is a rare complete set of 125 volumes. 126 vol in 8, including volume 36 in two volumes. Paris publisher Moutard 1779-1791.

Nicolas Léger Moutard was the printer for the Queen's bookseller from 1774 to 1792. He was installed in the chapel of the Hôtel de Cluny.

Provenance: Bibliothèque de Mr le Comte Vimar, Pair de France. Nicolas Vimar (1744-1829) was a renowned politician and jurist. In 1814, he was appointed by King Louis XVIII to the prestigious Chambre des Pairs.
