Polychrome alabaster bust of a young woman, signed "Gory". The young woman wears a flower-braided hairstyle and looks down with an expression similar to that of antique busts. Her bust is carved in a slightly darker alabaster, creating a lovely contrast between the skin and the draped bustier. The garment is adorned with chased plant and flower motifs in the Art Nouveau style. À the back, a bun divides the hair into two braids. The alabaster's visible veining lends a unique character to this charming sculpture of a woman. The whole rests on a pedestal with cut sides, itself carved on the front with flowers, leaves and branches. This sculpture is signed by Italian sculptor Affortunato Gory, active between 1895 and 1925.
